The objective is to assemble unique pieces from matched sets of text and images.
A simple example would be populating a template with a group of people's name, title, and photo.
This can be done with Adobe In-Design's Data Merge feature.
A .csv file and folder of images populate pre-defined locations in a template so that each piece can be unique.
